Today is International Woman Day.
As woman, daughter, sister, creative woman, I know how importante this day is!
Historically this day was marked by the revolt of hundreds of women in a factory where they made a strike to demand better conditions (salary, etc). Those hundreds of women were closed in the factory and they were - literally - murdered. They caught fire to the factory and the women died inside, carbonized. It was in the year of 1857!
Along the humanity's history, the woman has been coming to try to win equality of rights and duties..
In ancient Egipto, the women had more rights than you imagine... Along the years, those rights vanished and nowadays, in the year of 2019, we still struggled for equality, same rights and duties.
In the art, the women also 'they suffered' and many were 'camouflaged' by the men's fame.
That the difference of a sexual organ can do...
So today National Gallery celebrate this day, by honoring a serie of artista women.
